Whether you actually replaced your computer with a new one, or repaired your computer after a hard drive crash, the  computer is "new" from the perspective of Magic backup.  Follow the easy steps below to recover your files from the Magic Backup servers.

Log on to your account on the Magic Backup Web site from the computer you need to restore to using your email address and secret password.

On the "My Account" page you will see a list of the computers you have backed up using Magic Backup.  Locate the computer that had the files on it what you want to restore.

Click the "Restore This Computer" link that corresponds to this computer.

You will be instructed on how to download and install the Magic Backup client software on the computer you need to restore to.

After you have completed the installation, the Magic Backup software will be in "Restore Mode".  This means that instead of backing up the files on your new computer, it will only allow you to restore files that were backed up by your old computer until you are done restoring.

The Magic Backup Restore Wizard will guide you through selecting files to restore.  You may choose to restore all of your files, or select only specific files and folders.

If you choose to restore single files or folders, you may repeat this step as many times as you need to in order to recover everything you want.

You may then choose the location to restore the files to.  If you select the "Original File Location", any files in that location with the same names will be overwritten.

IMPORTANT!  Do not shut down your computer while files are being restored.  This will cancel the restore operation and you may have to start over to get your files.

After you have completed recovering your files, you will need to tell Magic Backup that you have completed restoring.  Do this by pressing the "Done Restoring" button on the Magic Backup Control Center screen, or selecting "Done Restoring" from the context menu on the tray star icon.

Magic Backup will not begin backing up the new computer until you are done restoring files from your old one.
